PC behind server connecting to multiplayer internet play

Hi, i've been reading some of the posts here and still haven't found a suitable solution to my problem.

I have a PC inside a LAN with a router which is doing NAT for the internet connection. The problem is that the network admin has some ports open for instant messaging and some popular games (like CS) but not for AOK. Because of that I cannot connect to servers outside the LAN running AOK though internet TCP/IP connection.

I have thought about writing an application which maps other ports which are open to the directx ports, but my lack of programming skills in that area (and lazyness) prevent me from doing that. i've found this DXport toy which seemed like the solution to my problem, only that when I try to map the open ports (something in the 1050-1060 range) it tells me that it cannot do that.

Is my method suitable for playing this game, or, if it's not, how can I make it work?
